S W E E T I E S
From time to time I veer off the beaten path of the world of entertainment news to share my views on certain aspects of the political scope.
It is NO WONDER why America is hated all over the world.
Stories like this just make me want to move to Canada with the quickness. The “Birthers” group is nothing more than a racist movement that is angered by the fact that the U.S has a man with an African lineage in the White House. The “Birthers” claims they believe Barack Obama was born in Kenya and not in Hawaii and the presidency rightfully belongs to John McCain.
The truth of the matter is that officials in Hawaii have confirmed multiple times that the birth certificate produced by the Obama campaign in 2008 is legitimate. Factcheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, has also seen the birth certificate and declared it legitimate.
The “Birthers” are a bunch of racists and there is nothing more to it than that. The name that they have given to themselves “The Birthers” is just a little too reminiscent of the movie “The Birth of a Nation” aka “The Clansman” Coincidence my sweets? I think not.

A little history lesson for those who may not know “The Birth of Nation” is a 1915 silent film that was directed by D.W. Griffinth that was set during and after the American Civil War. The movie depicts the Ku Klux Klan as the heros of the South and Black people as unequal citizens (to put it as lightly ). The Ku Klux Klan is overtly racist and has the guts to say they hate black people.
The “Birthers” have tried to get support from the most evil recruits from the Right Wing media with no dice. Ann Coulter wont support these people which is saying a whole lot. She has publicly called the “cranks”. Bill O’Reily won’t give these people the time of day.
They shouldn’t get one second of airtime as far as I am concerned. I understand that these networks are scrambling for ratings but giving the “Birthers” a soapbox it is beyond poor taste and boarders on treasonous.
Many people have made comments on blogs asking why the President does not make a public statement to “shut down” the “Birthers”. Their leader Dr. Orly Taitz recently made the movement appear to be even more asinine in an interview with MSNBC. I just didn’t think it was humanly possible.
How on earth did David Shuster and Tamron Hall restrained themselves from flying off the handle???
For those who couldn’t bare to watch that debacle. Check out the condensed version of that interview!
It would be the worst mistake for the President to dignify these inbred fools with a response.
So far Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do during his campaign. With the insurmountable task he was handed we believe the President is doing a great job. Two thumbs up and 5 Candy Hearts!
!GO OBAMA GO!

Hi Nightly. I was watching this segment on Huffingtonpost.com and I was thinking “how can someone like Orly Taitz practice law let alone have a law degree?” A ? To these “birthers”, why during the campaign why didn’t the republican party (McCain/Palin) say anything about where Barack Obama was born? The answer: Because they knew nothing was wrong.
How can people stoop this low for no reason?
This movement as you said is racists.
Why don’t the “birthers” or Orly Taitz know that regardless of who President Obama’s parents were and where they were born, when a person is born on American soil, that makes you an American citizen. If Barack Obama was born in Africa, he still is a American citizen since is mother is a American citizen. These “birthers” should be called different names such as “dummies”, “stupids”, “ignorants”, any other name that show what these people really are.

“Birther’s” is not a term that was adopted by people who question Obama’s origin of birth. It was given by people who choose to insult and ridicule rather than argue legitimate points. Annenberg College was funded by William Ayres and Barrack Obama, working for the Woods Fund. It is hardly an impartial witness. BO’s mother does not qualify to pass on citizenship because she did not live in this country long enough to meet the requirements when the baby was born. Barrick Obama is VERY un-American acting regardless of where he claims to have been born. He is a Saul Alinsky follower. He is redistributing the wealth of the haves to the have-nots. Just because Obama is black (actually half white) does not mean that because he is hated that it is racially motivated. I hate his actions, not his color.

Hi Allison,
Thanks for stopping by Nightly Candy. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
The great thing about our country is that we are entitled to our opinions and can state them freely and openly (as long as you are NOT threatening life or livelihood). There is a difference between opinions and facts. There is nothing I can do to change your mind if you are one of the few disillusioned people that question the Commander-in-Chief’s eligibility as President. You stated in your comment that BO’s mother does not qualify to pass on citizenship because she did not live in this country long enough to meet the requirements when the baby was born.. Whether or not Obama’s Mother was a citizen or not is irrelevant. According to Title 8 in the U.S Code any child born on U.S soil is a U.S Citizen. (You can read up all about the U.S Code Title 8 on the Cornell Law School website http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/usc_sup_01_8.html). Some “birthers” have attempted to make the insidious argument that Hawaii was not a state when Obama was born and therefor that negates his U.S Citizenship. This is yet another vapid attempt and at a baseless argument simply because it holds no merit whatsoever. Hawaii became a part of the United States in 1959. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 so his birth was in the United States, not just a U.S. territory. According to The Immigration and Nationality Act, Title III, SEC. 305. [8 U.S.C. 1405], “A person born in Hawaii on or after April 30, 1900, is a citizen of the United States at birth.” Republican candidate John McCain was born in Panama and is considered to be a U.S. citizen under the same act.
You also mention in your comment that “Birther’s” is not a term that was adopted by people who question Obama’s origin of birth. It was given by people who choose to insult and ridicule rather than argue legitimate points. If that is the case then I would have expected that Orly Taitz would have taken the opportunity on MSNBC to set the record straight. The broadcast referred to the movement as the “Birthers” several times throughout the segment. I believe it is the solemn duty of any leader to clearly define the movement that they lead. If a Democrat was on a nationally syndicated show to talk about their politics and they were introduced as an Republican, or Independent, I can safely assume they would correct the mistake immediately.
The issue is simply this. Obama is the President of the United States until 2012, end of discussion. If you want change that in 2012, then exercise your voting rights in the next election. If the majority of the American people “hate(s) his actions” like you do, then you have nothing to worry about right? I for one stand by my President, along with the millions of young people who elected him into office and who will faithfully do so again in 2012.
